This program is for members who do not have the educational background to go into the apprenticeship program.

While in the step program members will be paid their weekly wages (40 hours) by NYCT while being released from duty on a full time basis to attend a vocational school approved by the Fund for a period of six months. The Fund will provide opportunities for forty members to enter this program each year.
