Transit Certificate Program (T.C.P.)

Turn ambition into action. Be part of the force that moves millions every day and see New York from a whole new view, behind the controls of a Train.

In partnership with CUNY, the program provides:
Eligibility to take the Promotion to Train Operator Exam
13 College Credits
A Certificate in Transportation Workers Leadership from CUNY

ELEVATE Program

Take the first step toward a rewarding career in transit’s electrical departments with ELEVATE, a 9-month electrical training program designed to make TWU Local 100 members eligible to sit for the Transit Electrical Helper Exam. Becoming an Electrical Helper is the first step toward becoming a Maintainer and advancing your career in transit.
Through hands-on training and classroom instruction, ELEVATE prepares you for transit’s electrical divisions.

Tutor.com

Experience the convenience of personalized, live tutoring for you and your family through Tutor.com, the nation’s leading online educational platform. From kindergarten through college, members receive up to five hours of tutoring each month — at no cost.

Tuition Reimbursement

Invest in your future with TUF’s Tuition Reimbursement Program, designed to help TWU Local 100 members reach their educational and career goals.
Eligible members can receive up to $4,000 per fiscal year toward the cost of tuition for:
College degrees (Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s)
Professional certifications
Job-related courses and continuing education

How to Enroll in a Program

Joining T.C.P. and ELEVATE is simple. Attend an orientation session to learn more about the program, ask questions, and discover if it’s the right path for you.

Step 2

Within 2 weeks of class start date, to the email – tuition@twulocal100tuf.org submit the documents listed below

Completed Application(Completed online)
Official Proof of enrollment (i.e. Class schedule, unofficial transcript, school ID.)
School course or program description (should include start and end date for class)
Breakdown of tuition and other fees

Step 3

After completion, to the email – tuition@twulocal100tuf.org submit the documents listed below

Two most recent pay stubs
Proof of Payment, such as a credit card receipt or a bursar’s receipt
An itemized breakdown of costs, including tuition and all fees incurred.
Verification of a satisfactory grade: Official transcript indicating a grade of C- or better for undergraduate courses, a grade of B- or better for graduate courses, or a grade of “Pass” in a Pass/Fail course.
