As transit workers, we spend our work days taking 8 million
people where they want to go. I’m proud to be able to tell you about a Union program that can help take you where you want to go.

In 2002, our Union negotiated for a TWU Local 100/NYCT Training and Upgrading Fund. Since we started, over 7,000 of your Local 100 Brothers and Sisters have gotten on board for a better future for themselves and their families.

Some are taking the free Defensive Driving courses that can mean big savings in car insurance. Some are taking free
computer classes to get ready for the high-tech future of transit. Some are in free Civil Service test prep classes that can mean promotions. Some are finally getting a high school diploma for free, years after they had to put aside school to go to work.

What do all of these people have in common? Our Union opened a door, and they took advantage of it. They signed up for classes with the Training and Upgrading Fund. Day or night, Local 100 members are in class.

It is not easy to work a full time job, fulfill personal/family
obligations and go to school. Your Training & Upgrading Fund helps make it easier by offering free class options with a variety of schedules.
